Sick Boy :(

This little man is so sick.

My little Ty guy is so sick. It makes me so sad. We had been fighting illnesses for over 2 months now. It's so annoying. The whole family has been sick but mostly Ty. In the last 3 weeks we have had Kinley into the doctor once and Ty in three times. He has had pink eye, a nasty cold virus and now a horrible ear infection.

I took Ty to the doctor 2 days ago. He had been running a fever of 102-103 for a few days then he started saying his right cheek hurt. I didn't know if it was his throat, ear or tooth so to the doctor we went. Turned out he had an ear infection so bad that it had perforated. I felt awful. How could I miss that? Probably cause we rarely get ear infections in our family. He is on amoxicilin for the second time in 3 weeks and has ear drops. His ear is draining some nasty stuff now. I hope he feels better soon. His fever is finally gone but he still coughs. He just lays around all day. He sleeps and wants Mommy to hold him constantly. Poor baby.

I just want to cuddle him and take his pain away. But all I can do is love on him and give him yucky medicine. I can't even kiss him cause I have nasty cold sores covering my entire bottom lip. It sucks. I really HATE it when my kids are sick.

Want to Color?

McKinley was really sick the last two days.
First thing this morning she got up and got to coloring!
That is how I knew she was better!

Kinley has been into coloring SO much this year. Since Christmas she has already colored 3 color wonder books cover to cover. They have 18 pages each. Then she got this cute Strawberry Shortcake coloring book for her birthday and almost has it all done too. She LOVES to color and she is so good at it. It's great that it keeps her so entertained.

Hail Storm

It hailed at our house about a week ago.
It was crazy, cool.
Probably only cause I was inside.

Are you prepared?

Are you prepared?
Do you have an emergency 72 hour kit?
It's my new obsession.
Above is my list of items needed for our hygiene kits.
Below is all 5 of our kits completed!!!!
About a year ago a fabulous Lady in our ward did a Relief Society meeting on emergency preparedness. She challenged us to go home and make a 72 hour kit for everyone in our family.
I totally brushed it off and did not do it.

A few months ago one of my best friends was put in as our ward's emergency preparedness specialist. So that got me to thinking that I really should get those kits put together. So I started with going online and making list after list of items suggested for the kits. Jeremy and I also started shopping around at DI's to find nice, sturdy backpacks for everyone in the family. We still need to find two more so I got started on hygiene kits first.

I mostly used stuff from around my house. I did make a trip to the dollar store last night to get a few things that we didn't have. I have really enjoyed getting these put together. It is so nice to know that we are in the process of getting the items we need in case of an emergency.

The hygiene kits are all done and I have started on the 72 hour backpacks. I can't wait to see how it feels once they are complete. It is nice to finally have some food storage and other necessities that our Prophets have counseled us to get. If you have not started yours I would encourage you to do so. Love you all.

Skirt Refashion

See this LONG skirt?
I cut it up and made new short skirts.
Sorry Renee I hope you aren't made at me.
This was for her wedding 7 years ago.
I thought I should make it into something I can wear!
This is the first of the two skirts.
I really like it....but.....
I'm not experiences and I cut it too short.
But that's okay cause I have had 2 kids in the last
7 years and it doesn't exactly zip us all the way.
I will have to see if one of my cute Niece's wants it.
This is the second skirt I made out of it!
I love this one, and it fits me!
This I will actually wear to church.
And this is Kinley posing for me, as usual.
This is the dress from my last post.
I made a sash for it and this is what
it looks like on.
She loves it and I think it's adorable!

Look what I made!!

Isn't this cute!
My friend had a craft night and taught us how to make
these adorable cupcake trays.
I love it.
This is one of my refashions!
This used to be one of Jeremy's old shirts
now it's McKinley's new skirt.
I had plans to make a bubble skirt but Kinley
likes it the way it is so I left it.
And this I love!
This used to be one of my old skirts.
I turned it into Kinley's new dress.
I LOVE doing this stuff!
Sorry there aren't any before pictures.
I get so excited about my projects I forget the before pics.

T-Shirt Refashion!!!

I'm in LOVE with my new sewing machine! And I need reasons to use it! So I came up with some. My wonderful Husband and Kids gave me a sewing machine for our anniversary. While on our anniversary trip my wonderful Husband bought me a bunch of new shirts because I'm sick of being the plain T-shirt mom. So I came home and went through my closet to get rid of the plain T's. I decided why throw that $$ away. REFASHION instead! So I have started. These are the first ones I have gotten done and I LOVE them!

The first two pictures are my boring T's that I made fun
by cutting a "too tight" T to make these ones
corsage T's.
LOVE!

The shirt below is a reverse applique.
Again I cut up a T that was too small to go behind this one.
Kinley wanted refashioned shirts too.
This is her corsage shirt.
I like hers even better then mine.
An this is her reverse applique.
I LOVE this one!

I can't wait to make more fun stuff! Stay tuned cause I have lots of ideas to make some of my old skirts into new dresses for Kinley and old shirts into new skirts for her. I also have more plans to refashion some more clothes for myself. Let the sewing resume!!!!

The kid's bedroom

I FINALLY got around to redoing Kinley and Ty's bedroom.
So it only took three years give me a break I've been busy. Hahaha
Anyway the M pictured above used to be part of McKinley's name on the wall.
In my young days of creativity I had no idea what I was doing and used
outdoor mega stick stuff on the wall.
That's what the M looked like once I got it off the wall.
This is what the wall looked like.
Oh crap. Holes everywhere.
So I worked my magic and repaired it.
Then the painting began!
Viola!! A blue wall!
Now Ty is no longer trapped in a girl room.
All the walls are a different color; green, yellow, pink and now blue.
This is the blue wall after the redo.
It's cute but simple.
And this is the new bunk bed!
Kinley loves it....Ty, not so much.
The bedding I made for Ty for his birthday!
And McKinley's bedding!
I totally love hers!

So their bedroom is finally done. I might add a little more decor but
I have to decide what first.
We had a good time putting it together.
Kinley even got to help Mommy paint!
