Skirt Refashion

See this LONG skirt?
I cut it up and made new short skirts.
Sorry Renee I hope you aren't made at me.
This was for her wedding 7 years ago.
I thought I should make it into something I can wear!
This is the first of the two skirts.
I really like it....but.....
I'm not experiences and I cut it too short.
But that's okay cause I have had 2 kids in the last
7 years and it doesn't exactly zip us all the way.
I will have to see if one of my cute Niece's wants it.
This is the second skirt I made out of it!
I love this one, and it fits me!
This I will actually wear to church.
And this is Kinley posing for me, as usual.
This is the dress from my last post.
I made a sash for it and this is what
it looks like on.
She loves it and I think it's adorable!

Look what I made!!

Isn't this cute!
My friend had a craft night and taught us how to make
these adorable cupcake trays.
I love it.
This is one of my refashions!
This used to be one of Jeremy's old shirts
now it's McKinley's new skirt.
I had plans to make a bubble skirt but Kinley
likes it the way it is so I left it.
And this I love!
This used to be one of my old skirts.
I turned it into Kinley's new dress.
I LOVE doing this stuff!
Sorry there aren't any before pictures.
I get so excited about my projects I forget the before pics.

T-Shirt Refashion!!!

I'm in LOVE with my new sewing machine! And I need reasons to use it! So I came up with some. My wonderful Husband and Kids gave me a sewing machine for our anniversary. While on our anniversary trip my wonderful Husband bought me a bunch of new shirts because I'm sick of being the plain T-shirt mom. So I came home and went through my closet to get rid of the plain T's. I decided why throw that $$ away. REFASHION instead! So I have started. These are the first ones I have gotten done and I LOVE them!

The first two pictures are my boring T's that I made fun
by cutting a "too tight" T to make these ones
corsage T's.
LOVE!

The shirt below is a reverse applique.
Again I cut up a T that was too small to go behind this one.
Kinley wanted refashioned shirts too.
This is her corsage shirt.
I like hers even better then mine.
An this is her reverse applique.
I LOVE this one!

I can't wait to make more fun stuff! Stay tuned cause I have lots of ideas to make some of my old skirts into new dresses for Kinley and old shirts into new skirts for her. I also have more plans to refashion some more clothes for myself. Let the sewing resume!!!!

The kid's bedroom

I FINALLY got around to redoing Kinley and Ty's bedroom.
So it only took three years give me a break I've been busy. Hahaha
Anyway the M pictured above used to be part of McKinley's name on the wall.
In my young days of creativity I had no idea what I was doing and used
outdoor mega stick stuff on the wall.
That's what the M looked like once I got it off the wall.
This is what the wall looked like.
Oh crap. Holes everywhere.
So I worked my magic and repaired it.
Then the painting began!
Viola!! A blue wall!
Now Ty is no longer trapped in a girl room.
All the walls are a different color; green, yellow, pink and now blue.
This is the blue wall after the redo.
It's cute but simple.
And this is the new bunk bed!
Kinley loves it....Ty, not so much.
The bedding I made for Ty for his birthday!
And McKinley's bedding!
I totally love hers!

So their bedroom is finally done. I might add a little more decor but
I have to decide what first.
We had a good time putting it together.
Kinley even got to help Mommy paint!

Kid's Quilts

My fantastic husband gave me this wonderful machine for our anniversary!
I have wanted a sewing machine for about a year now and
I LOVE IT!!
Thanks so much honey!
I quickly put it to work making quilts for birthdays.
I have had fabric sitting in my room for about a year. I finally made my little kids
the intended quilts and pillowcases for their new bunk beds.
But it's okay that it took me a year cause they just got bunk beds a few weeks ago.
The above pic of Ty's.
And this beauty is McKinley's! I absolutely LOVE it!!
These are the pillowcases I made.
I found a tutorial online and threw them together.
These are the two quilts together.
The kids love them and they also got pillow pets for their birthdays to join the new bedding!
I will post later about the bedroom redo with more pics of the beds.

Anybody Sleepy?

Pictures of my kids falling asleep at random times or in random places.
Like this one of Ty in a shopping cart.
I ended up buying a few items we didn't need to keep him comfortable!
Nice blanket.

This was just today.
He actually fell asleep in the shopping cart again but I didn't get a pic this time.
My sweet boy exactly one week old!
Chubby cheeks!!
Who gives a one year old soda pop? This Mom does.
Puts him right to sleep!

This is my adorable baby girl at five days old.
This is one of my all time favorite pictures of her.

Crash time.
This was just a few weeks ago.
This picture cracks me up. How are they even comfortable?
Ty had to sleep with ALL of his animals too!

I need to add a big
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MCKINLEY!
My sweet girl is 5 today.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Did you all have a good Valentine's Day? We did!
We started by painting our nails a week ago.

These are my toes. Hooker red with hearts for the holiday.
Don't look too close they're not that great.
These are Kinley's with matching fingers!
Then for joy school all the kids decorated pockets to put Valentine's in.
Aren't they cute? I love how all of their personalities show in their artwork!
I also made some for a few of the day care kids I watch.
Then my husband ended the day by making us a FABULOUS meal!
Oh my gosh my husband is the BEST cook.
This picture is our appetizer! Grilled shrimp guacamole tostada bites!!!
OH SO YUM!!
And this was our amazing meal!
Barbecued ribs and shrimp scampi linguine!
AMAZING!!
We should have had a side dish but we aren't much for sides and
this was plenty of food.

We had a wonderful day!
Oh and don't forget all the chocolate that we all got!!
