Little Mother Hen

I tend this adorable little boy. He came to our house two days ago and ended up getting really sick. This is Kinley helping me out! He was so sick he just wanted to be held all day long. When I had to put him down to help the other kids Miss Mother Hen would step in! She actually got him to go to sleep in this position. So sweet.

I am really impressed with the natural motherly instinct that McKinley already has in her. She seems to know how to console babies pretty quickly and easily. Today the baby pictured got a hold of a thick plastic beach bag. Without even being told Kinley knew it was something he should not have so she kindly took it away from him and gave him something else to play with. She is so smart and my best little helper!

Easter Crafts

Egg shaped rice crispies!

Cute doggies out of plastic easter eggs!

Adorable pigs out of plastic easter eggs!

It was my turn to teach our little joy school again last week so we did fun easter stuff! They made cute easter eggs and decorated easter pencils then I sent all the kids home with an easter egg animal. My kids and I had so much fun making these animals. I thought they were adorable. There were lots more on the website but it was too late to try them all, maybe another day.

TREATS!!!

A sweet family in our ward had a yard/bake sale last weekend. The father of a young family was recently diagnosed with cancer and cannot work so they did a fund raiser. These are the treats I donated. They were simple treats for me and my kids to make together. We had fun and helped someone out in the meantime!

Lilacs=Grandma

How beautiful are these?!

A few years ago I was surprised to notice a lilac bush in my back yard. You see lilacs remind me of my Grandma Callister. Now I get a daily reminder of her each spring as my flowers grow!

My Grandma has been passed away for over 15 years now but the smell of lilacs takes me right back to her. She used to have a beautiful lilac bush outside her front door. I loved the spring because it would blossom and fill the air with it's light, fresh scent. I remember smelling them ever time I went to visit her.

I miss you Grandma. Some day we will be together again!

Sick Boy :(

This little man is so sick.

My little Ty guy is so sick. It makes me so sad. We had been fighting illnesses for over 2 months now. It's so annoying. The whole family has been sick but mostly Ty. In the last 3 weeks we have had Kinley into the doctor once and Ty in three times. He has had pink eye, a nasty cold virus and now a horrible ear infection.

I took Ty to the doctor 2 days ago. He had been running a fever of 102-103 for a few days then he started saying his right cheek hurt. I didn't know if it was his throat, ear or tooth so to the doctor we went. Turned out he had an ear infection so bad that it had perforated. I felt awful. How could I miss that? Probably cause we rarely get ear infections in our family. He is on amoxicilin for the second time in 3 weeks and has ear drops. His ear is draining some nasty stuff now. I hope he feels better soon. His fever is finally gone but he still coughs. He just lays around all day. He sleeps and wants Mommy to hold him constantly. Poor baby.

I just want to cuddle him and take his pain away. But all I can do is love on him and give him yucky medicine. I can't even kiss him cause I have nasty cold sores covering my entire bottom lip. It sucks. I really HATE it when my kids are sick.

Want to Color?

McKinley was really sick the last two days.
First thing this morning she got up and got to coloring!
That is how I knew she was better!

Kinley has been into coloring SO much this year. Since Christmas she has already colored 3 color wonder books cover to cover. They have 18 pages each. Then she got this cute Strawberry Shortcake coloring book for her birthday and almost has it all done too. She LOVES to color and she is so good at it. It's great that it keeps her so entertained.

Hail Storm

It hailed at our house about a week ago.
It was crazy, cool.
Probably only cause I was inside.

Are you prepared?

Are you prepared?
Do you have an emergency 72 hour kit?
It's my new obsession.
Above is my list of items needed for our hygiene kits.
Below is all 5 of our kits completed!!!!
About a year ago a fabulous Lady in our ward did a Relief Society meeting on emergency preparedness. She challenged us to go home and make a 72 hour kit for everyone in our family.
I totally brushed it off and did not do it.

A few months ago one of my best friends was put in as our ward's emergency preparedness specialist. So that got me to thinking that I really should get those kits put together. So I started with going online and making list after list of items suggested for the kits. Jeremy and I also started shopping around at DI's to find nice, sturdy backpacks for everyone in the family. We still need to find two more so I got started on hygiene kits first.

I mostly used stuff from around my house. I did make a trip to the dollar store last night to get a few things that we didn't have. I have really enjoyed getting these put together. It is so nice to know that we are in the process of getting the items we need in case of an emergency.

The hygiene kits are all done and I have started on the 72 hour backpacks. I can't wait to see how it feels once they are complete. It is nice to finally have some food storage and other necessities that our Prophets have counseled us to get. If you have not started yours I would encourage you to do so. Love you all.
