Too Busy!

I've been entirely too busy lately to catch up on my blog! I was recently called to be the Primary President in my ward. This is a HUGE calling. It's taking up a ton of my time and consuming a lot of my thoughts. I have also been potty training Ty. Believe it or not it has been successful this time! YAY! And I have been crafting my life away! Check it out!

Headbands and Hair Bow for Kinley!!

A group of my friends have started having these AWESOME jewelry parties! I have gone to one every weekend for about 6 weeks now. The lady has all the stuff needed. She sets out the beads, chains and examples. You just go and make what you want then pay her when your finished! It's fun and super cheap! Plus you get to make jewelry to match your wardrobe. It's been a blast!!
This is the jewelry Kinley has made for herself.
She made a different piece each time she got to go with me.

This is my set. It all started with the watch band.
Then I made an additional piece at the other parties.

I made lots more earrings and needed a place to put them...
so I made this frame!
I LOVE it. I also made most of the earrings hanging on it.

McKinley needed and earring holder too.
This is hers with her baby picture next to it.

I have been working on crafts to auction at our family reunion.
This is one I came up with made from pages out of a book.

And of course more earrings and earring holders for the reunion.
I LOVE the purple polka dot one. I'm tempted to keep it. :)

I have also made these super cute rag wreaths.
I've had so much fun making these!
I chose these three to keep for myself.

And these four to be auctioned at the reunion.
I'm tempted to keep the purple, pink & blue on for myself too!
What is with me liking purple lately?
I have always hated the color until recently.

I thought I would throw in a picture of my kids entertaining themselves
on our new trampoline since I craft so much lately.
This trampoline was given to us the other day from a family in our ward.
Thank you Fife family for being so generous!!
We LOVE it!
That's it for now. I guess since the reunion will be over this weekend I will have to find something else to do to entertain myself. Maybe I should work on being a Mom. I'm sure my kids would agree!

My Tiny Dancer!

This is McKinley after her very first dance recital!
Above is a picture of her and the two other girls in her class.
Below is my tiny dancer in her adorable pose.
We had so much fun watching McKinley dance. She is a born dancer and she can shake it like no other so we knew we had to get her into a class somewhere. The unfortunate thing is all the dance classes cost more than we felt we could afford. Well I went to ladies night at the Boulevard a few months ago and there was a lady there promoting her class. She only charges $20 a month and her costumes are inexpensive too! We LOVE it! And Kinley has a blast!!

Mini Vacation

Sorry no pictures. I am a slacker but here is an update to read.

Last weekend we went on a mini vacation with our family! We never have the funds to go on a real vacation like we want so this one had to do for this year. My sister, Cody, and her family went to Lagoon over the weekend for a dance competition and invited us. We took her up on the offer and made a weekend out of it!

On friday we went to Delta to spend the night. Saturday morning we got up and headed to Lagoon taking my brothers kids with us. We had SO MUCH FUN!!! We spent all day at Lagoon watching my Nieces dance and enjoying the rides. What a blast! Sunday morning we got up and went to the Zoo! Ty LOVES animals so we couldn't wait to take him to see them live and up close. Too bad the Hogle Zoo sucks. I was not impressed but I don't think the kids knew the difference.

Here are 15 things I learned over the weekend.

1. I forgot how much fun Lagoon can be.
2. If you give your teenager a little bit of freedom at Lagoon he will have an absolute blast!
3. If your 3 year old is being brave do not freak him out and take him on a scary ride.
4. My kids LOVE to be with their cousins.
5. My 5 year old daughter is a dare devil. She rode all the kid rides and a few of the adult rides. She even went on rides that she didn't care for just cause her cousins wanted to go. I was completely impressed by her!
6. It feels good to find and return a lost child to his Mother.
7. The Hogle Zoo sucks right now. They don't have very many fun animals.
8. My sister can be brave with a little prodding.
9. I LOVE to spend time with my family!!
10. Children have complete trust in their parents. It is wonderful to realize how much they love and trust you.
11. It brings me COMPLETE JOY to watch my kids have so much fun. They had permanent smiles at Lagoon
12. My husband still makes me laugh! I love him dearly.
13. No matter where you are it feels like home if you are with family.
14. I still love the classic carnival rides. Tilt a whirl, scrambler and bumper cars are my all time favorite!
15. It's refreshing to relax and enjoy a few days of pure fun with my family!

More Refashions

So this is a picture of ONE of Jeremy's old work shirts.
Picture this in a few different colors and styles.
These are what I have been using to make McKinley
and I a new wardrobe.
This particular shirt was turned into one of
the skirts pictured below.
This really is not a great picture.
They are two calf length knit skirts that
I will probably wear a lot during the summer.
They are super comfy.

This is an adorable bubble skirt that I made for Kinley.
Again made out of one of Daddy's shirts.
This is how it looks on her.
I am in love!

Thanks for the "know how" Megan!
She shared her mad sewing skills with me
so I whipped this up in like 30 minutes.

Another Skirt Refashion

See the long skirt on the left?
I refashioned it....

Into this cute short skirt!
I love it!

This is a closer picture of the detail.

When I start making a project it never really turns out how I envisioned it in the beginning but I usually end up liking the end result so that is good. The ruffle on this skirt was make out of one of my husband's old work shirts. I make A LOT of stuff out of his old shirts. I cut strips from the back side of it and sewed three of them together. Then I gathered and sewed it to the denim. I thought it still needed more so I dug some lace out of the bag-o-tricks, doubled it to look thicker and sewed it on too! I LOVE this skirt now and can't wait to wear it to church with my new shirt that will match perfectly!!!

Easter Egg Wreaths!

McKinley and I made these cute easter crafts the other day.
We had so much fun!
We made two for our house and the other two for friends.

This is a close up of the one hanging inside our house.
I really love it!
Inexpensive and fun!

So Sleepy

How does he sleep like that?
I know that can't be comfortable.

Look close at his ear.
Wonder Mom here didn't put sunblock on him
so his ear blistered and popped when he was playing.
Poor boy. Lesson learned....use sunblock!

Sleep tight sweet boy.
