First Day of School 2011

Travis ready for his first day as a FRESHMEN!! I love that he is still a good sport about me taking his "first day of school" pictures.

McKinley's first day of Kindergarten. We did a joy school last year so this was the first time she was going to a "real" school. She was excited, I was COMPLETELY nervous.
Standing by her bus. I think the bus gave me more anxiety then school.
And sitting at her desk!
She is so big now.

I had so many emotions yesterday as I sent my baby off to school without me. It was a rough day for me but in the end all was well. She did great and I'm sure knows more about getting to and from home then I give her credit for. I love this little lady. I'm so excited for her to grow up and learn and experience life but it is hard to watch her go.

As a side note: She does know more than I give her credit for. Today (being only the second day of school) "mom of the year" here forgot to pick her up from the bus stop. She walked home by herself, knocked on the door then said, "You made me walk home all by myself?" She wasn't very happy with me.

I am not very happy with myself right now. I want to cry but I know it won't do any good. I'm very upset with myself but also a little upset that the bus driver let her go. I know he has a lot of kids to keep track of and it's my fault not his but I'm still upset. Good think for modern technology, I will be setting an alarm on my phone to remind me from now on.

Seven Peaks

We go to spend the weekend with the Kirkland family at Seven Peaks! My parents, siblings and their kids go every year but this was our first year to join them. We had so much fun! Last time I was there I was pregnant with Ty and Kinley was only 16ish months old so I didn't get to do anything and I have been bitter ever since.

This time was totally different. The kids LOVED the lazy river so we went around that about 100 times. It was great cause the adults took turns with the kids so we all got a chance on the slides. We had so, so, so much fun!!!

I was going to take my camera and take pictures but I just wanted to enjoy the day and not worry about the perfect picture op. So I left the cameras home. However I did take the below pics after we got home. I just had to share my beautiful bruise to prove just how much fun I had! We all came home with a few bumps and bruises but I think mine takes the cake. This beauty measures 11 inches long (yes I got out the ruler) and stretches from my bum to almost my knee. How did this happen you ask???? Let me share the story.

Jeremy and I decided to take the kids down a few of the big slides. This was our first run down. Jeremy went first with Ty on his lap, Kinley and I followed after with her on my lap. Well apparently you are supposed to lay down on this ride and I was sitting up so about half way down we stopped. I tried to lay down but my swim top kept rolling up and stopping us. So I sat up and tried to push us down the slide. As I got to the bottom I saw the look on my family's faces turn from smiles to fear. I know we were about to get hit. Some poor guy slammed into us and pushed us into the water. I just wanted to keep Kinley above water. I didn't care if I was hurt. We got up and the poor guy apologized and asked if we were okay. We were fine. Everyone was worried that it hurt my back but that was fine. I did notice my leg was sore but I didn't think much of it.

A few hours later my two older sisters and I were in line for the same slide when my oldest sister told me I was bruised from butt to toe. I looked down and said, "Oh my gosh that is from when that guy ran into Kinley and I." As the day went on it got darker and darker. So I took a picture that evening. This first picture is about 10 hours after it happened. By the way, don't judge my fat legs.

And this is the beauty today. This one is roughly 48 hours after it happened. I think it's funny how it has lines in it. Almost like his foot rolled my skin as it slid down my leg. It's pretty sore but it was all worth it. I LOVE Seven Peaks!!!I wasn't the only one to escape with battle wounds. Jeremy accidentally did a summer-salt in the lazy river which is only 3 1/2 feet deep so he got "road rash" on his head. Kinley fell and scraped up her knee. And my sister, Cody, got a small cut on her toe. That's all of the wounds that I was aware of.

Little Mermaid at Tuacahn

Last night we took the whole family to see The Little Mermaid at Tuacahn. It was SO FUN! Ariel is Kinley's favorite princess so we HAD to go. Notice Sebastian is missing a face? Ty is a turd and would not get in the picture.
Kinley and I so excited for the show to start.

Kinley sporting her Ariel headband!
She got this from a friend for Christmas.
When she decided to wear it to the play she said,
"Thank yoooouuu Taylee!" It was so funny.

Kinley standing in front of the stage at intermission
We were only a few rows up. We had sweet seats!

Travis, Ty and Kinley sitting next to all of Ariels "human stuff"!
She sang "Part of your world" Kinley's favorite song right there!
McKinley was in heaven.

This is the boys hangin' out during intermission.
I took this pic to prove Jeremy really was there.

And the all time coveted picture.......
McKinley with Prince Eric and Princess Ariel!
She even got their autographs!
The smile on her face made me melt.
Every thing was well worth it to see this smile!

Ready to go home with autographs in hand.
I had the best feeling ever as we drove away.
My daughter was completely happy for those few hours.
There is nothing better in the world than to watch your child enjoy complete bliss!!!!

Two Days of Swimming

We spend friday and saturday last week swimming at the WCCC! It was so much fun!! Thanks so the Morris family for the great times! Ty LOVED the lazy river, or the "spinner" as he called it. We went around that thing over and over and over. He did great in his life jacket. He kept telling me, "Mom I'm big. Don't touch me."
McKinley and her BFF Aaliyah! These two had so much fun together! There were all over that place. They did well in their life jackets too. We just had to look around for two pink jackets holding up two adorable little girls every few minutes. It was always fun to try to spot them. Like where's Waldo!! Or rather where's the two mermaids? That's what they were pretending to be all day.
Every time Ty and I would swim passed Cyndi Ty would say, "Mom tell Cyndi to see me." Then he would smile and wave at her. He needed her to know he was swimming by.
I thought Paul was in this pic with us but apparently not. He was so cute. He had on bright green goggles and totally did his own thing.

And the best part of it all!! Kids are super sleepy after a few hours in the pool. Dad was out of town so they had a sleep over in my room! What a great weekend!
